An 8 kg washing machine with a steam function offers a modern solution that combines efficiency, hygiene, and convenience.

This article serves as a guide. We will introduce the key features you should look for and present a selection of models that could be of interest to various households in the UK due to their specific characteristics.

What to Look for When Buying an 8 kg Washing Machine with a Steam Function

To find the right appliance for your needs, it's helpful to understand a few technical features and functions.

1. Energy Efficiency and Motor Technology

A decisive factor for long-term running costs is energy efficiency. The energy efficiency class A washing machine represents the current standard for economical appliances. Models in this class consume significantly less electricity and water per wash cycle.

Closely related is the motor technology. A quiet washing machine with an inverter motor offers several advantages:

• Lower noise level: The brushless drive creates less friction and vibration, making operation, especially during the spin cycle, much quieter.
• Durability: Fewer wearing parts lead to a longer motor lifespan.
• Efficiency: Inverter motors precisely adjust their power to the load, which optimises energy consumption.

2. Special Programmes for Individual Needs

Modern washing machines offer more than just standard programmes. Look for functions that make your daily life easier:

• Washing machine for allergy sufferers: Programmes with steam or extra rinse cycles effectively remove allergens such as pollen, dust mites, and pet dander.
• Washing machine for pet hair: Special programmes use additional rinse cycles and adapted drum movements to reliably remove pet hair from textiles.
• Quick wash washing machine: Ideal for lightly soiled laundry or when you're in a hurry. Programmes under 40 minutes save time and energy.
• Washing machine with reload function: A forgotten sock is no longer a problem. This function allows the door to be opened to add laundry items even after the wash cycle has started.

3. Smart Features and Connectivity

A Wi-Fi connected washing machine with an app offers a high degree of flexibility. You can start the wash cycle on the go, check its status, or receive notifications when the laundry is done. App control also provides access to additional wash programmes and diagnostic functions, further simplifying operation.
