Blind Box collectible figures combine the fun of collecting with the excitement of a surprise. Until you open the box, you usually won’t know which design is inside. That makes each box a little gift, a desk decoration or a charm for your bag or keyring. But buying them can come with a few common misconceptions: a single box doesn’t guarantee the design you want, a rare Secret Figure isn’t automatically included, and the way a complete set is put together can vary from series to series.
This guide explains what to look for when collecting designer toys, anime figures, vinyl figures, plush charms and gothic figures.
An individual order will usually contain one randomly selected figure. If you’re looking for a specific design, don’t mistake the product description or images for a guarantee that you’ll receive it. A Medium Box or Full Set offer, on the other hand, may include several boxes and, depending on the series, exclude duplicates.
This doesn’t apply automatically to every product. Details such as “6 designs + 1 Secret” describe the possible line-up for the series, not the contents of an individual Blind Box.
Terms such as Secret Figure, Chaser Figure and Limited Edition indicate a special variant or a limited series line-up. They don’t mean that the figure will be included in every order. There’s no way to guarantee you won’t get a duplicate in a single box. If you want to collect a complete series, choose an offer that explicitly states it’s a Full Set with no duplicates.
