An LED fairy light chain can enhance shelves, windows, beds or seasonal decorations. However, product images often do not show how long the illuminated section actually is, what power supply is required or whether the lights are suitable only for dry indoor spaces. If you overlook this information before buying, you may end up with a decoration that does not reach the desired position, is impractical to use every day or is unsuitable for its intended purpose.
For many products, the stated length consists of the illuminated section and lead cable. For example, a fairy light chain with a total length of 435 cm may have a 385 cm illuminated section and a 50 cm connection cable. For a window or shelf, however, it is primarily the illuminated section that matters.
You should therefore check the following before buying:
A multicoloured fairy light chain may have coloured balls and still emit a warm white light. The colour of the covers does not automatically indicate the light colour of the LEDs.
