A dinosaur set should inspire imaginative play while also suiting a child’s age, the space available and family life. The PLAYMOBIL 70866 Jaden’s Raptor Adventure features a Velociraptor, a play figure and 44 pieces in total. Before buying, though, it’s worth checking exactly what’s included, the recommended age and the safety information.
When shopping for dinosaur toys, three common misconceptions can lead to unnecessary spending:
According to the product information, the PLAYMOBIL 70866 is intended for children aged 3 and over. The set also contains small parts and requires assembly. This poses a choking hazard for children under 36 months. An adult should assemble the set. Depending on the child’s age and how they play, appropriate supervision may also be advisable afterwards.
If you’re looking for a dinosaur set for children aged 3 and over, don’t choose on the theme alone. In particular, check:
The PLAYMOBIL 70866 Jaden’s Raptor Adventure is listed as a 44-piece PLAYMOBIL set. The product description mentions a Velociraptor figure, among other items. Before buying, compare the detailed parts list on the product page with what you expect to be included.
A high piece count is most useful when it opens up different play scenarios. For imaginative dinosaur role-play, poseable figures, extra accessories and pieces that can be combined are usually more important than the number of individual parts alone.
According to the product information, the PLAYMOBIL Raptor set doesn’t require batteries. That means no extra battery purchases or charging time. Play centres on hands-on interaction, moving the figures and making up stories.
The listed product dimensions of 1 × 1 × 1 cm don’t seem plausible for a complete play set, so shouldn’t be relied on as an indication of how much space it needs. A lidded storage box is a good way to keep small accessories from getting lost. The stated product weight is 450 g.

No. According to the product information, the PLAYMOBIL 70866 doesn’t require batteries. Play is hands-on, using the figures, accessories and role-play scenarios.
That depends less on a set period of use and more on how a child plays with it. A set is often more engaging for longer if its figures and accessories can be used in different stories.
