The required height depends on the chicken breed. For less flighty breeds like Orpingtons or Brahmas, a height of 0.9 m to 1.1 m is often sufficient. For lighter, more agile breeds like Leghorns, a height of 1.2 m or more may be advisable to prevent them from flying over.
