A WC seat with soft close lowers the lid and seat slowly and quietly. This is particularly handy in a family bathroom and also reduces the risk of the lid slamming down onto the ceramic. To ensure your purchase works well for the long term, however, you shouldn't just rely on terms like "universal" or "antibacterial".
A toilet seat doesn't automatically fit every WC. Oval toilet bowls and O-shaped toilet seats are particularly often confused. What really matters are:
An oval toilet seat that is too short can slip forwards or backwards. If it's too wide, the buffer pads may not sit securely on the ceramic.
